Wisnu Temple and Garuda Temple at Prambanan – Wisnu temple that situated at north of the Siva temple, you will see a room that placed with Wisnu statue. So do with Brahma temple that situated at south of Siva temple, you will see only a room that placed with Brahma statue.
The colleague temple that will make you interest is Garuda temple, which situated near Wisnu temple. This temple has story about human half bird called Garuda. Garuda is mystical bird in Hindu mythology that has gold body, kind of his face is white, winged red, beaked and winged looks like Eagle. It is estimates as the Hindu adaptation into Bennu manifestation. Bennu means rise or shine, usual associated with God of Re on ancient Egypt mythology or Phoenix on ancient Greece mythology. Garuda able to save his mother from Aruna curse (the Garuda’s brother that born with disability) with steal Tirta Amerta (the holy water of God)
Garuda’s ability to save his mother that impress by people until now. Garuda symbols are use by people for every necessary. Indonesia is using Garuda for State symbol. Perhaps, the creator of Garuda symbols invents the inspiration from this temple. Another state that is using Garuda as State symbols is Thailand, with same reason but different adaptation form and appearance. Thailand call Garuda with names Krut or Pha Krut
