The Magic of Jathilan

Jathilan is the art of bringing together the elements of dance with the magical. Art is also often called by the name of jaran kepang can be found in villages in Java.

Jathilan started by dance, then the dancer vessel possessed fine spirits, so almost no conscious of what they do. At the time the dancers move to music from the rhythm of music equipment such as the type of gamelan instruments. There are other players who oversee with the whip.

A player who oversees the task is the most important in this jathilan. He is the master and he control the only spirit that the fine dancers. The dancers who generally use the jaran kepang. Jaran kepang made from bamboo which resembles a wattle horse.
